Vice President for Medical Management IlliniCare Health Plan

Centene Corporation is seeking an accomplished nurse executive as the Vice President, Medical Management (VPMM) for IlliniCare Health Plan, a wholly owned subsidiary and HMO for the state of Illinois. The regional headquarters for IlliniCare is located in Westmont, Illinois, approximately 25 miles west of Chicago.

The Vice President for Medical Management will be responsible for directing and coordinating the medical management, quality improvement and credentialing functions for IlliniCare Health Plan. S/he will be responsible for reviewing activities, costs, operations and forecast data to monitor progress toward the Health Plan goals and objectives and will participate in provider education and contract negotiation. The VPMM will be a key member of the senior leadership team and will aid the Health Plan President/CEO in formulating and administering organizational and departmental policies.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated success as a nurse executive overseeing utilization review, clinical quality improvement initiatives and case management. Recent managed care experience; knowledge of Medicaid program; and a familiarity with medical information systems, medical claims payment processes and medical terminology is required. The equivalent of a four (4) year nursing education/BSN is needed; advanced education in nursing, health care, business or public administration is desired. ID#138887C33.
