This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties and assisting with the overall workflow of the physician practice.Â
Â Essential JobDuties: Assist with daily clerical operations, including answering multi-phone lines and making copies of documents as necessary.
Maintains accurate inventory of supplies, including expiration date checks.
Accurately file patient charts; including scanning documents into files as necessary.
Ensures that patient rooms are kept stocked and clean; also ensures that equipment is kept clean.
Maintains organized filing system for all office/billing documents.
Distributes referrals as necessary to physicians and insurance companies; keep proper documentation of referral requests/responses in patient charts.
Pre-authorize prescriptions and clinical tests (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, etc.) as necessary.
Accurately performs a variety of clinical testing, including ekg, holter monitors, PFT, stress test, PAP, ear irrigations, 02 sats, vision/color charts, and urinalysis/hemocult tests.
Thoroughly and accurately complete patient information forms prior to physician meeting with patient; assist physician with chart as necessary.
