Responsible for the direction and oversight of Rehabilitation Services for the hospital. Coordinates and supervises operations of the department, by assisting with budget development, takes appropriate action to ensure department operates within budget guidelines. Guides quality improvement efforts within the department and participates in hospital wide quality improvement initiatives. Completes patient evaluations, develops treatment and discharge plans and provides ongoing patient care as needed.

Responsible for department budget development and ensure department adherence to budget.
Ensure the delivery of quality care through documentation audits, direct observations, peer review and/or other means as appropriate.
Serve as backup and support for PPS Coordinator on completion of IRF-PAI, facility wide FIM education as needed.
Ensure the integration of the Rehabilitation Services department in hospital wide quality improvement initiatives.
Perform patient evaluations, establish goals, treatment and discharge planning.
Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency of all rehabilitation services modalities.
Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Maintains department cleanliness and safety. Complies with ongoing departmental inspections of equipment and physical space, makes recommendations regarding equipment utilization and needs.
Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety standards.
Serves as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians and other healthcare providers.
Represent the hospital in the community for the purpose of community service, business and relationship development activities.

Current licensure as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech and Language Pathologist in the state of OH.
Minimum of three years of previous therapy management preferred.
Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate and direct activities of clinical personnel; effective oral and written communication skills, in English with additional languages preferred; proficiency in basic computer skills required.
Minimum of 2 years previous experience working in inpatient rehabilitation facility (IRF) preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of Functional Independence Measures (FIM), certification required within 1 month of hire.
Physical and Safety Requirements:
Good general health and stress coping ability. Ability to treat patient's as needed. Full mobility and ability to participate in vigorous activity. Possess near vision acuity for accurate reading of equipment and recording on patient charts. Must be physically able to lift, support and move patients. Normal walking, standing, sitting, bending, carrying of light items such as books and papers and computer related work. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with all constituents (patients, families, peers, and other healthcare team members) as needed for leadership, assessment, intervention, and professional development.
