Bayhealth Medical Group (BMG) operates primary care practices (family medicine and internal medicine) and specialty services to residents of Central and Southern Delaware. Physician oversight for BMG is provided by a nine-member elected Operating Council who meet with BMG leadership monthly to review the group’s operational and financial performance as well as address issues of interest to group members and management. BMG providers enjoy a reputation for high-quality care within the market.
The Vice President, Physician Services will be accountable for the direction and management of all BMG physician practices. He/she will maintain broad responsibilities for all BMG administrative functions including strategic and business planning, business development, operations, finance, physician compensation, marketing, human resources, information systems and performance improvement. The Vice President will oversee seven Regional Practice Administrators, each of whom has responsibility for multiple practice sites, and a Revenue Cycle Manager. The Vice President works closely in a dyad partnership with the Medical Director for BMG, and works closely with Bayhealth Business Development and the physician recruitment office on physician recruitment and network development.

Five to eight years of healthcare/hospital leadership experience including physician practice operations. Three to five years of experience in a large physician group practice management role.
Experience within an organization with a hybrid (employed/voluntary) medical staff preferred.
Physician recruitment; strong knowledge of employment contracts including negotiations and compensation models.
Ability to build and lead an effective and cohesive team.
Well-versed in healthcare finance, including reimbursement, revenue cycle, budgeting, financial analysis, payor contracting and compliance; EPIC experience a plus.
MBA, MPH, MHA or Master’s degree in a related field is required.
Membership in the MGMA or ACMPE fellowship is desirable.
