Responsible for the extensive use, maintenance and repair of biomedical equipment. Sets up and maintains a system for the completion and filing of pertinent records regarding all biomedical equipment. Oversees all work done within department responsibility by department personnel and outside vendors. Evaluates outside vendor response and performance with respect for awarded service contracting. Monitors, schedules and performs preventative maintenance for covered equipment while maintaining equipment repairs of the unscheduled nature. Supervises Biomedical technicians. Reports to the Director of Facility Services. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 2. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university or the equivalent combination of education and/or technical experience. 7 years progressive responsibility in multiple clinical areas and/or multiple modalities.
3. LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
4. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
5. REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
