Physiatrist / Fixed Term (Open Rank) The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a BC/BE Physiatrist (fixed-term track) trained in Brain Injury Medicine (BIM) to join our expanding academic department. This position will involve inpatient care and consultations, outpatient clinical services, and numerous academic opportunities. The faculty member who fills this position will be expected to care for adults with traumatic brain injury, CNS neoplasms, anoxic brain injury, and other brain disorders. This individual will interact with and benefit from a dynamic and collaborative neuroscience community from across the University and Medical Center, including the joint UNC/NCSU Department of Biomedical Engineering, Allied Health Sciences, Neurology, Neurosurgery, and many other related departments within the UNC School of Medicine. The successful applicant will serve as Medical Director for UNC’s Acute Inpatient Rehab Brain Injury Program. They will also be expected and given academic time to participate in educational, research, and administrative activities associated with their academic appointment and related area of expertise. Some on call responsibility and participation in quality improvement projects is required. The successful candidate will be board eligible/board certified in PM&R as well as sub-specialty board eligible/certified in Brain Injury Medicine.
